Our programmes are for international 10-17 year olds and they run throughout the year, with our busiest times during the UK’s Spring and Summer vacations.

It’s also an important part of ensuring that English is used and practiced around our campus – not just in class – as it’s the only common language between all groups!

Activities & Excursions
It’s our job to pack lots of fun into our programmes and make every moment a brilliant, engaging experience. Students will find our schedule of activities is a great way to balance their class time and let off some energy! Our energetic Activity Leaders run a packed schedule of fun sports, crafts, competitions, challenges, social events and more, so that being bored is not an option!
Students on our programmes can also look forward to exciting excursions, that take you to some of the most iconic places in the UK. Programmes usually have a mix of half-day, full-day and extended full-day visits, which will normally include a Dusemond-led walking tour, entry to a cultural attraction, and some well-earned free time. Full and extended days can also include dinner out!
Local Learning Experience
Our local learning experiences are designed to connect students with the communities surrounding their schools. These experiences provide opportunities to interact with local people and develop projects that are directly related to the area and its culture. They promote experiential learning and offer students a meaningful, academically challenging experience beyond the classroom.
Depth, Choice and Personalisation
Classroom-linked Excursion Lessons
To make excursions even more engaging and memorable, students take part in specially designed Excursion Lessons beforehand, so they get deeper insight into the places they’ll see. Once on-site, interactive Excursion Activities encourage teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking — often with the added thrill of competitions and prizes. Every trip becomes a richer, more meaningful adventure, with plenty of fun built in!
15+ Activities
We also run specific, tailor-made 15+ sessions for our boarding school centres, led by our activity leaders. There are 4 sessions, with each session lasting three hours.
- Students learn about the cost of living crisis and the importance of local foodbanks. With our partners at the Trussell Foodbanks, the students make emergency 3-day parcels.
- In the second session, students learn about event planning and leadership. Together they organise an activity for the younger students onsite and have to deliver a professional, credible plan covering staffing, budgeting, health and safety, etc.
- In the third session, the sessions strive to help students understand what they want to achieve in life, whether in further education or in the labour market. This session is designed to build their skills in these areas.
- In this session, students work with our host school and develop a project around logistics, project management, and project skills in housekeeping, catering, and the areas that our school enterprise teams need to manage.
These 4 sessions are mandatory for all 15+ students and are designed to help them build skills for where they want to go in life.
Electives & Externals
There will be at least 1 elective session in each of our centres. There will be a sign-up process as soon as you arrive at the centres. The group leaders will be asked to rank each students choices of activities. The activities can include pamper night, jewellery making, banner making, sports, talent show preparation, and swimming.
In our boarding school centres, we have activities run and delivered by professionals so that students can benefit from specialist knowledge and the opportunity to develop new skills in a fun and memorable environment.
In our boarding school centres, the first activity is an externally delivered fun fair, with a range of traditional games, and interactive events. The second activity is delivered by our external team-building provider and includes an exciting selection of bushcraft survival games, teamwork challenges and leadership activities, all designed to encourage communication, resilience, and collaboration.
These activities are designed to offer students a wider range of experiences that complement our in-house activity programme.
The Dusemond Young Learners Programme
The Dusemond Young Learners Programme is an immersive English adventure course where young learners develop their language skills through creativity, teamwork, engineering, and survival challenges during classes and activities. Students become Dusemonauts, earning badges through individual achievements while competing as part of their team, combining personal growth with teamwork, belonging, and friendly competition. Available at our Bedales centre only. The schedule is designed for a week only and is designed for students aged 8-13. It includes 1 full day excursion and 1 half day excursion.

Language Programmes
Our “Beyond English” programme welcomes every level, using English as a bridge to explore ideas and connect across cultures. It’s more than just lessons — it’s a shared journey that sparks curiosity, friendship, and a deeper sense of global citizenship.
Competitive Programmes
Our ACE programme is an exciting, team-driven adventure where students grow their English, build entrepreneurial skills, and tackle real-world challenges together. It’s all about confidence, creativity, and friendly competition — ending with a memorable showcase that celebrates their achievements.
